WILD PINK THE FENCES OF STONEHENGE

Following an EP released in March, NYC indie-rock band Wild Pink have shared a fresh single, ‘The Fences of Stonehenge’. Cruising through a crisp drum groove, dirty riff and vocalist John Ross’ temperate delivery, the track is all lush, heartlandish textures. It brings to mind The War on Drugs, but with a bright-eyed sentimentality. It feels like a natural landscape, a work that spans over rolling hills, open roads, rumbling thunder and dusky scenes in its instrumentation. As Ross sings ‘I don’t know when I left the path/I’m gone and then I’m coming back’ ahead of an optimistic synth melody, he delivers a reassuring reminder that it’s possible to return to yourself after things don’t quite go to plan. Having announced their forthcoming new record ‘Dulling The Horns with a US, UK and EU tour around the corner, Wild Pink are here with a lot of heart to share, and ‘The Fences of Stonehenge’ serves as a rosy glimpse. -Kayla Sandiford
